The Garden
Welcome to the garden.
I have been trying for a while to think of the right format for a lot of the notes and mini-essays and recipes and scraps that I wanted to post, and the concept of an online garden feels like a good way of framing it. You can read more about digital gardening here, although I originally heard of it via Anne Steele.
This digital garden is a collection of writing I have scraped from my old diaries, half-finished scraps, or stuff that popped into my head and I wanted to save somewhere. It follows whatever interests me at any particular moment. Stuff grows out of other stuff, or pops up completely unexpectedly, no idea where the seed came from (shit out by some passing bird, probably).
Below is a photo of my real garden, taken summer of 2020, at its tangly best. There are some mixed aquilegia in there; a bright orange geum ('Totally Tangerine'); a philadelphus; a white foxglove. There's also a lot of miscellaneous greenery like herb robert and lemon balm and catmint. It's a bit of a mess. That's the way I like it.
